The Tiger Cat Flowage Lake Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to the incredible volunteers who recently dedicated their time and energy to hand-pulling invasive Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM) from Upper Twin Lake. Through this remarkable team effort, approximately 400 pounds of EWM were removed from the lake in a single morning, helping protect the health and ecological integrity of our waters.
A very special thank you goes to our dive team—Megan Sorensen, Jeff Mader, and Becky Mader—whose skill, dedication, and hard work beneath the water’s surface made this successful effort possible.
Supporting the divers on the water were dedicated volunteers Bill and Cindy Conger, Jen Weltzin and Jen Corlett, Kim and Craig Rudd, and Mark and Julie Berggren. Their teamwork ensured the efficient collection and transport of the invasive plants as they were removed from the lake.
On shore, our Association leadership stepped up to keep operations running smoothly. Special thanks to President Don Stover and Secretary Kay Wilson, who carefully coordinated the offloading and weighing of the harvested EWM.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Rudd family for graciously providing a basecamp location and treating volunteers to wonderful homemade refreshments. Their hospitality created the perfect gathering place and served as a reminder that stewardship is about community just as much as conservation.
Days like this showcase the very best of the Tiger Cat Flowage community and demonstrate what can be accomplished when neighbors unite around a shared purpose. Every pound of EWM removed represents another step toward preserving the beauty, recreation, and ecological health of Upper Twin Lake and the entire Tiger Cat Flowage for generations to come.
