The momentum is growing—and so is our impact.
Just days after removing approximately 400 pounds of invasive Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM), our volunteer team returned to Upper Twin Lake and removed another 466 pounds.
That’s nearly 900 pounds of invasive Eurasian Watermilfoil removed in just two volunteer events! 🌿💪
This round was all about working smarter. A huge thank you to Captain Craig and Kim Rudd for once again opening their property as our basecamp and expertly coordinating operations. Craig spearheaded shuttle logistics for our incredible dive team—Megan Sorensen, Jeff Mader, and Becky Mader—while Kim was instrumental in identifying target locations and helping direct on-water efforts.

Despite challenging winds, Team Wanecke (Kevin and Hillary) provided essential support on the water, while Team Conger once again recruited family, Tom Anderson, Special thanks to these additional volunteers for lending a hand on the water.

Back on shore, our crew continued to grow with Signe Backus joining President Don Stover and Secretary Kay Wilson in coordinating operations. Volunteers were even treated to an impromptu performance by the VonConger Duet, Nancy & Jane Conger, adding a little music and a lot of smiles to an already incredible day.
The winds were cranking, but our volunteers kept going. Apparently, all they needed was a little more cowbell! 🔔
Nearly 900 pounds removed is proof of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose: protecting our lakes…and we’re just getting started!
