Founded in 1995

The Tiger Cat Flowage Lake Association (TCFLA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, fully volunteer based organization, representing property owners who share a common goal to preserve the Tiger Cat Flowage chain of lakes.

The TCFLA represents lake-related interests of approximately 300 privately owned lakefront properties surrounding six interconnected lakes of the Tiger Cat Flowage: McClaine, Upper Twin, Lower Twin, Tiger Cat, Burns, and Placid.

Through education, communication, and stewardship, we keep members informed about environmental impacts and actively engage our community in meaningful ways they can contribute to the long-term health and sustainability of our lakes.

Mission

Protect, Preserve and Improve the Watershed and its Ecosystem for Current and Future Generations

History

The TCFLA was founded in 1995 by a small group of 29 lakefront property owners.  Early efforts focused on raising awareness about possible septic seepage into the lakes. Over time, the TCFLA has grown into an engaged community dedicated to ensuring its sustainability. In September 2009 the TCFLA officially incorporated. In November 2017, the Association formally became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Organization

The TCFLA monitors the health of the lakes, including water quality, fisheries, aquatic plants, and wildlife. It connects neighbors to collaborate on shared priorities and works with the WDNR and local governments to help ensure our waters remain safe and healthy.

Our Vision

The Tiger Cat Flowage Lake Association envisions a united, engaged membership and community dedicated to protecting the resources of the Tiger Cat Flowage. We aim to preserve the lake’s beauty, wildlife, and resources through collaboration, education, and sustainable practices, ensuring a lasting legacy for current and future generations.

Our Members

As a Member You Can Make a Difference

TCFLA members play an active role in protecting and improving our lakes. You can volunteer for hands-on lake projects and stewardship efforts, participate in Association decisions by attending semi-annual meetings, and serve on Committees or the Board of Directors.

Through membership, you have a direct voice in the actions and initiatives that shape the health and future of the Tiger Cat Flowage.

Membership and donations are essential to achieving our mission and vision. We invite property owners along the Tiger Cat Flowage, as well as those within one mile of the lakes, to become members and join us in preserving, protecting, and improving our lakes.

Together, we ensure the Tiger Cat Flowage remains a beautiful, safe, and thriving environment for generations to come.

Our Board

The Board of Directors is dedicated to advancing the mission and goals of the Tiger Cat Flowage Lake Association (TCFLA). Comprised of member elected officers and directors, the Board provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Association.

Working collaboratively, the Board helps establish priorities, guides long-term planning, and ensures the effective management of the Association’s resources. Board members oversee key initiatives, support environmental stewardship efforts, and help shape policies that protect and promote the health, safety, and sustainability of the Tiger Cat Flowage.

All Board members are elected volunteers who generously contribute their time and expertise in service to the lakes and its members.

The Board consists of four officers and no fewer than three, and no more than thirteen, directors. These Board positions serve three-year terms. Elections to fill open Board positions are held during the first semi-annual membership meeting each year.

The Board strives to represent the best interests of TCFLA members while preserving the natural beauty and ecological health of the Tiger Cat Flowage for current and future generations.

Our Committees

Committees play a vital role in supporting the work of the Association and advancing its mission. Made up of Board members and volunteers, committees focus on specific areas such as lake management, communications, event planning, fundraising and membership engagement.

Committees help research issues, develop recommendations, and carry out initiatives that protect our lakes. They also provide members with a meaningful way to get involved and make a direct impact.

If you would like to get involved and volunteer, we’d love to hear from you—please contact a Board member, a Committee Lead or simply contact us here.
